Welcome to Ace!

The Charlotte Ace Camp Program started in the summer of 2007. There are Ace Camps all over the country and it was time to bring one to the great city of Charlotte. This camp is funding by OBAP (Organization of Black Airline pilots) and other private sponsors.

We utilize the facilities at First Baptist Church West (FBC-W) which is located in Charlotte. FBC has been a wonderful partner to us in Charlotte and their staff has been a major support for us. The heart of this organization is to expose youth to the aviation world. Please understand; we do not expect every child to go into aviation. It is our job to expose them to aviation which will open their eyes to other types of careers and the education they need to get what they want.

We want these students to change their dreams into goals. Dreams are not always obtainable, but goals are. We will challenge your youth, educate them, and expose them to a world that most people don’t have the opportunity to see.

What’s the flightline?

Upon completion of the program, your child will get to actually pilot and fly an airplane of Friday. Graduation will be held on Saturday where you (yes, the parents) have a chance to go up in a small aircraft.

NOTE: If you don’t want your children challenged this summer, this will not be the place for your children. This is a structured program that will force your child to challenged, disciplined, and educated. Trust me, you child will come home Friday a new person!

What is the Fee?

Most of this week is covered by sponsorship. It cost us about $350 dollars per student for the week of the camp. However, there may be a small fee which coverers the church’s expenses. There are Scholarships available.  Please contact Patsy Burkins for fee and scholarship information. Her information is on the Home page.
